Trauma Week Day 1

For the start of St. Luke's annual trauma week, the biomedical classes were taken to the South Alabama Recreational Center where a drowning scenario was played out. A life guard rushed into the pool and demonstrated how to properly pull an injured person from the water. They used a mannequin as the main demonstration for the drowning victim. They perform CPR until the paramedics arrived on scene, and they eventually took over the scene. After the demonstrations were completely finished we were able to ask questions, which were answered by the head life guard or the paramedics.
