IV and Auscultation Lab

On Friday, February 4th, two women from the University of Mobile came to teach how to detect heart and lung sounds with a stethoscope, and how to put an IV in. The first woman has been a nurse for 4 years, and she was the one teaching how to detect heart and lung sounds. We lined up around her as she played different sound for different conditions.

The second woman has been a nurse for 25 years and was teaching us how to put an IV in an arm, a mannequin of course. We each took turns tying a tourniquet then inserting the IV into the mannequin's arm, with the goal to draw blood. They passed out folders about Mobile University, with information on ways to contact them for future reference.
