Head to Toe Assessment
On October 6-7, 2021 Dr. Richard Mcelhaney gave us a lecture on full body assessments. When assessing a patient you will inspect, palpate, percuss, and auscultate. When conducting a full body assessment the following area need to be checked and treated (if needed), head and face, eyes, ears, nose, mouth and throat, neck and shoulders, lungs and thorax, circulatory system, gastrointestinal system, arms and hands, an finally legs and feet. A full body assessment could take quite a while, but each persons assessment could differ in the amount of time taken to complete.
