Dental Hygiene

A dental hygienist came to the school to talk to us about being a dentist or a dental hygienist. As she was talking she was explaining how long it would take for a person to become a dentist or a dental hygienist. She explained that creating relationships with the patients is a crucial part of dentistry. Towards the end of her lecture she started talking about relationships again, but this time it was about the more trust they gain from the patient the more people get referred to a certain dental office or even a certain dental hygienist. While she was here she showed us many different models and equipment that she has and uses at her office. Each model has its own uses, the model can be used to comfort a patient who is worried about a certain procedure or have braces put on or taken off. The skull can be used to locate each tooth and show how the wisdom teeth can effect the regular line up.
